Hailey is an obscure palace pharmacist in the BL guideverse rofan novel "Ties of Obsession," which is what the reader vaguely recalls upon waking up in her body. Even without Hailey's memories, the new Hailey thwarts the evil head pharmacist's attempt on Emperor Damion's life and is rewarded with the position of his personal pharmacist. Although the contract Damion makes her sign is a lifelong one, it pays a crazy high salary, and her patient's handsome face is a nice perk. What Hailey doesn't foresee is Damion getting attached to her before meeting his gay lover from the original novel!
